The Role
Do you have experience leading children’s religious education programs in a church or chapel setting? Are you confident organizing events, recruiting volunteers, and working with diverse Christian backgrounds?
We’re seeking a Religious Education Coordinator to support the RAF Mildenhall Protestant Parish. This role is about more than managing children’s programs—it's about fostering spiritual growth in a diverse military community. You’ll lead weekly Children’s Church, coordinate special events such as Vacation Bible School and Christmas programs, and ensure compliance with child safety protocols.
You’ll work closely with chaplains, volunteers, and base personnel to maintain a strong, well-organized Religious Education program. The position requires approximately 15–30 hours per week, with flexible scheduling based on the season.
This is a part-time, 1099 contract position.
If you’re ready to serve in a vital role that supports children’s faith development in a military setting, we want to hear from you—apply today!
Please note: Candidates selected for an interview will be required to provide supporting documents, such as degree certificates, transcripts, and professional certifications.
Position contingent upon contract award.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and coordinate weekly Children’s Church and annual events like VBS and holiday programs
• Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers for all children's RE activities
• Maintain attendance records and volunteer background checks
• Develop and submit annual curriculum and budget proposals
• Attend chapel staff meetings and Protestant Pastoral Advisory Committee sessions
• Maintain program brochures, calendars, and publicity materials
• Manage educational resources and provide teacher training
• Ensure compliance with DoD safety and background check regulations

• Knowledge of age-appropriate curriculum for children’s ministry
• Sensitivity and respect for diverse Protestant denominations
You’ll need to provide two professional references, participate in a technical interview, and complete required background checks.
