Receptionist/ Switchboard Operative

Key Responsibilities:
Be the first point of contact for all callers, providing a warm, friendly, and professional experience.
Manage a high volume of inbound calls, directing them effectively across 32 UK locations.
Use internal telephony systems to quickly and accurately connect callers to the right teams.
Assess caller needs with empathy and professionalism, ensuring prompt and helpful routing.
Collaborate with the wider national Reception team to maintain seamless service.
Remain calm and efficient when handling urgent or sensitive enquiries.
Represent the company brand with every interaction, using appropriate tone and language.
Accurately log call information and support service improvement initiatives.
Follow processes for confidential or business-critical enquiries.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Outstanding verbal communication skills with a clear and friendly telephone manner.
Excellent listener with a genuine ability to understand and respond to caller needs.
Organised and efficient, able to handle multiple enquiries in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable using (or learning) internal telephony and directory systems.
Calm under pressure and capable of handling sensitive situations with professionalism.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to service excellence.
A collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
High level of discretion and respect for confidentiality.
