Are you an experienced small animal vet looking for a new opportunity where your ideas matter and your growth is supported?

Our client is a proudly independent, 3-site practice based in the East Midlands, owned and run by two dedicated vets who are still hands-on in the clinics. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a veterinary surgeon (with 18 months+ experience in small animal clinical practice) to join their friendly, busy team — working from either one or two of their thriving practices.

About the Practice:

This is first-opinion practice at its best: varied, engaging, and truly rewarding. You’ll be joining a close-knit clinical team with more than 100 years of combined experience. From a vet fresh out of their internship to colleagues with over 30 years in practice, the range of experience here means support is always available — and no one gets left behind.

With ongoing certificates in dermatology and surgery, a love of dentistry within the team, plus a visiting cardiologist and specialist orthopaedic surgeon, there are fantastic opportunities to learn, grow, and specialise.

Why Join?

Independent & Responsive: You’ll be heard here. Your ideas can directly shape how the practice evolves.
Supportive Culture: This is a team that rallies on the tough days and celebrates the wins — chaos and laughter included.
Clinical Excellence: With top-of-the-line equipment (in-house lab, digital X-ray, ultrasound, dental suite, and more), you’ll have the tools to do your best work.
Room to Grow: Whether you’re discovering your niche or already developing one, the leadership team will support you with flexibility and professional development.
Genuine Work-Life Balance: Located just 25 minutes south of Sheffield and 45 minutes from Nottingham, and with the stunning Peak District on your doorstep, your downtime will be just as fulfilling as your working hours.

Working Hours & Rota:

Job Types: Full-time or part-time applications welcome
Expected Hours: 25–40 per week (flexible to suit you)
Full-Time Equivalent: Four-day week with one early finish (4:30pm)

OOH & Weekends:

• 1 in 5 OOH and weekend rota (paid per case seen)
• Not compulsory – this can be tailored to each candidate
• Monday off following any weekend worked

Whether you're after a full-time clinical role or looking for part-time hours that work around your lifestyle, flexibility is built in.

You’ll Need:

• 18+ months’ experience in small animal clinical practice
• A passion for providing high-quality care to patients and clients
• A collaborative, team-focused attitude
• A desire to influence and grow within an independent setting
