Your new role
As a Housing and Extra Care Assistant, you will support the Extra Care Scheme Manager in delivering a safe, responsive, and supportive housing service for residents. This role is vital in maintaining high standards across the scheme while fostering a positive and inclusive living environment. You will contribute to day-to-day operations, health and safety, and resident wellbeing. It's a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing advice on repairs, tenancy issues, and rent queries. - Supporting safeguarding procedures and reporting concerns.
- Conducting routine health and safety inspections.
- Maintaining high standards in communal and landscaped areas.
- Engaging with residents and signposting local services.
- Responding to complaints and liaising with contractors.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in the role of Housing and Extra Care Assistant, you will need a caring and proactive approach, along with the confidence to work closely with residents and colleagues in a supportive housing environment. Strong communication skills and a commitment to high standards of service are essential. An enhanced DBS check is required for this position.
You will require:
- Experience in a customer-facing role, ideally within housing, care, or support services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive and enthusiastic attitude to problem-solving and resident support.
- A basic understanding of Health & Safety practices.
- Good IT and administrative skills.
- Minimum education level: GCSE or equivalent (Level 1).
- A valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
