Summary

Are you ready to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the UK's economy? The Office for Investment (OfI) is on a mission to drive growth, create jobs, and boost productivity across the nation. We are a dynamic and innovative team, working closely with top government officials and business leaders to deliver high-impact investment opportunities.

About Us:

The OfI was established in January 2021 and is a joint unit between No.10, HMT, and the Department for Business and Trade (DBT). We are a creative and motivated team with diverse backgrounds in both the commercial and public sectors. Our flexible and flat structure allows staff at all levels to work directly with senior leadership and gain exposure to high-profile projects.

Our Vision:

We aim to secure investment that drives growth and job creation, aligned with the UK's Industrial Strategy and HMG Missions. We are proactive and entrepreneurial, always seeking new opportunities to enhance the UK's economic landscape.

The Role:

As an Investment Partner (Place), you will be the bridge between OfI and senior regional/national partners, both public and private. You will be assigned a distinct regional area of focus and will be responsible for building partnerships with regional leaders, C-suite investors, and other government departments. Your goal is to develop high-quality, large-scale investment opportunities that align with the region's growth priorities.

  • Represent OfI in your region, working closely with mayors, chief executives, and business leaders to bring large-scale investment opportunities to market.
  • Lead and deliver transformative investment deals, collaborating with key stakeholders across HMG and the private sector.
  • Identify and support transformational investment opportunities where OfI's expertise can increase the likelihood of success.
  • Act as a central point of contact between senior regional stakeholders and OfI, providing expertise on the investment landscape.
  • Lead national initiatives to unlock investment, such as new financial models and innovative financing.
  • Organise and lead ministerial or investor visits and events in your region.
  • Provide leadership to OfI’s place function, including line management of the wider team.
