Summary

Working as a senior, strategic HR professional providing advice to a number of senior managers across our clinical care groups this is a great opportunity for any business partner to put their skills to the test. You will be supporting the largest of the clinical Divisions, corporate teams and Trust wide programmes of work. You will be leading and contributing to improvement programmes putting people at the heart of everything we do.
In this role you will be the HR lead for all Directorate Senior Leadership teams within the Surgery and Cancer Division providing expert HR advice on all aspects of the employee life cycle. Working alongside specialist teams such as central investigation, recruitment and workforce information to ensure best support to our colleagues. The surgery and cancer division have the largest medical workforce in the Trust so someone with experience of medical contracts and providing support on doctors rotas and MHPS processes will be useful.
This role will give individuals an opportunity to test their HR skills by working in a strategic way to identify improvement programmes with staff experience at the centre based on workforce data.
• Facilitate and lead on complex employee relations cases, advising managers on best ER practice ensuring that advice given complies with good employment practice, employment legislation and Trust-wide standards. This includes supporting with MHPS medical cases and Employment Tribunals
• Support managers in identifying workforce transformation and service redesign opportunities, including the ownership of consultation processes and TUPE discussions
• Organise, support and provide advice regarding the full range of formal processes. Attending hearings where necessary to provide HR advice, especially dismissals and appeal hearings.
• Carry out preparatory work related to Employment Tribunal claims and attend Employment Tribunals as appropriate.
• Work with directorate teams to deliver against their People Priorities including developing and delivering staff engagement plans, improvements in EDI and wellbeing across all teams
• Coach Managers to confidently tackle underperformance and workplace conflict to ensure their teams deliver the best possible outcomes for our patients, identifying where improvement programmes and training is needed and delivering sessions to a range of senior managers.
• Identify and deliver improvement programmes including cost benefits and efficiencies
• Deputising for the Divisional Director of People
