Father Hudson’s Caritas set in the beautiful stunning Warwickshire countryside, near to the heart of the historic coaching town of Coleshill. We are very conveniently located for main transport links and the Motorway network.
St Catherine’s Day Service supports adults with a range of complex care needs to enjoy a meaningful day. It provides a wide range of stimulating activities in the centre and in the wider community.
We are recruiting for a Driver responsible for transporting vulnerable adults from home to day services and from day services to home. This will include the clamping of wheelchairs on specially adapted vehicles. You will also be expected to complete training to enable you to support the clients whilst on transport.
A full clean driving licence is essential and this post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service being obtained

Monday to Friday – 8.30am-10am and 3pm-4.30pm
Last Friday of the month depending on college attendance for client
- 8.30-10am and 12.30-3 or 3-4.30pm
Responsible to: Registered Manager, Day Service
JOB PURPOSE:
Duties:
1. Drive Clients to/from their homes to the Day Service along an agreed route.
2. Transporting clients and staff to college and community venues.
3. Ensure Clients’ dignity is maintained at all times.
4. To assist in transferring wheelchair users to/from the minibus.
5. To carry out basic vehicle maintenance checks as appropriate, to include :
• Checking oil/water levels
• Checking tyre pressures
• Checking level of windscreen washer bottle
6. To undertake vehicle defect checks, reporting any such defects or damage to the
Day Services Manager as soon as possible.
7. Maintain Vehicle Maintenance log and Defects log.
8. To ensure all First Aid equipment carried on the minibus is replenished as
necessary, e.g. first aid box, blankets.
9. To be responsible for the cleanliness of the minibus both internally and externally.
10. To attend regular supervision with your line Manager and Team meetings as
required.

11. Undertake additional training as required, particularly basic First Aid and epilepsy
training, which may be arranged out of hours.
12. To pass on to the Manager any relevant information and to respect the
confidentiality of information relating to service users and the service they receive.
13. To carry out any other duties considered by the society to be appropriate to this post
at the request of your line Manager.
14. Comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act. and all other health and safety
policies, procedures and requirements of Father Hudson’s Care.
15. To adhere to all Society policies and procedures and those of statutory authorities,
as well as recognised codes of conduct or best practice.
16. Staff are expected to carry out any other duties deemed appropriate to this post as
requested by the Manager.
