About the role -
Working at Dimensions means joining one of the UK's most respected not-for-profit organisations in adult social care. You'll be part of a supportive, values led team that genuinely cares about the people we support and about each other. We offer fantastic opportunities for training, development, and career progression so whether you're just starting out in care or looking for your next step, you'll find your place here.
We're currently looking for Support Workers to join our dedicated team at a modern supported living home to eight fantastic individuals aged between their late 30s and mid-70s. At present, it's home to five gentlemen and three ladies.
This is a home where relationships matter. You'll be matched with a specific flat to provide consistent 1:1 support, building trust and familiarity with the individual you're supporting. Each person we support lives a meaningful life with your help, whether it's going out to music clubs, chatting about football, creating art, learning new languages, or simply enjoying sensory items and films.
Support needs are varied. You'll be providing full personal care, so you'll need to feel comfortable supporting both male and female individuals with dignity and respect. Some people use hoists and wheelchairs, and several require full assistance with eating, including pureed meals and PEG feeding.
Medication administration, especially via PEG, is also part of the role. We'll give you thorough training, but a commitment to responsibility and attention to detail is crucial. Communication styles vary across the home, three individuals use spoken language, while others rely on alternative methods. Patience and a willingness to listen and adapt are key.
Shifts run from as early as 7:15am to as late as 10:00pm, with flexibility to work full or part days depending on availability. There are no waking nights or sleep-ins, but availability to work every other weekend (both Saturday and Sunday) is expected to ensure continuity of care.
Benefits of Working with Dimensions -
