Purpose of the Role
The Service Manager is responsible for leading a small on-site team and overseeing the delivery of a peer support programme designed to support individuals with health and social care needs in a secure environment.
This dual-purpose role involves managing two Coordinators and leading the "Buddy Support Worker Programme"—training individuals in national care standards (adapted for prison settings) so they can support others in their community.
You will work closely with internal prison departments, healthcare providers, probation services, and third-sector agencies, while contributing to wider service development and strategic planning.

Person Specification
Essential
• A-levels, DipSW, or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent experience)
• Experience working with older people, in social care or criminal justice settings
• Skilled in relationship building and communication
• IT literate and confident using digital systems
• Motivated and capable of working independently and as part of a team
Desirable
• Degree-level qualification in a relevant subject
• Experience in training, coaching, or group facilitation
• Understanding of the voluntary sector and offender rehabilitation
• Familiarity with national and local offender management strategies
