Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Strategy Manager to join our successful team and drive forward the development of a strategy and partnerships that will help residents of Sunderland to reach their potential. andnbsp;

This is a crucial time for the service as we look to develop a strategic approach to learning and skills, linked to employment opportunities in the city. You will be responsible for facilitating a group of senior level partners, providers and employers in developing a city-wide approach to tackling complex issues around skills, health and employability and accessing appropriate funding streams to support this.andnbsp;andnbsp;



Reporting to the Director of Strategy and Corporate Affairs and managing a dedicated and experienced team, currently rated andlsquo;Goodandrsquo; by Ofsted, this role offers a unique opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of Sunderland residents and to play a part in achieving the City Plan ambition of andlsquo;everyoneand#39;s talent being nurtured,andrsquo; through creating conditions where residents are andlsquo;connected to opportunities, and whatever your aspiration, you can achieve it in Sunderland.andrsquo;andnbsp;



The ideal candidate will have experience of leading the delivery of skills and employability provision, alongside delivery of grant funded projects and programmes. The Service Manager will oversee relationships with providers, partners, internal colleagues and elected councillors and work to link the needs of local communities with commissioned provision and opportunities for employment with the city and regionandrsquo;s economy.andnbsp;



The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge and experience of quality assurance and performance management alongside a strong grasp of current skills policy and funding provision.andnbsp;



This post is exempt from the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to a DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
