Summary
Role: Finance Assistant
Location: Based at Norton Hill School (MAT Central)
Start Date: 26/08/2025
Hours: 25 per week, Monday to Friday, 9:30am - 2:30pm Monday - Friday, term time plus 5 inset days, 3 extra weeks in the school holiday this includes the last week of the summer holidays.
Salary: Grade 4 and scale point 7 - 10 - £13.26 - £13.91 per hour, Actual Salary £15,979 - £16,760 (FTE £25,584 - £26,835)
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our dynamic Finance Team. You will play a key role in providing a professional and responsive service to schools and staff across the Trust, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial information while adhering to internal controls and procedures. Although based at Norton Hill, you will be line managed by the Central Finance Team and work closely with colleagues at Head Office.

Key Responsibilities
Process purchase orders, code and reconcile invoices and manage school credit and Equals cards in line with Trust procedures.
Liaise with departments and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve purchasing queries.
Record and bank cash/cheques, reconcile transactions and support the Central Trust Finance Team with accurate financial data.
Assist with sales invoicing, including chasing outstanding amounts and ensuring ad hoc funding is claimed.
Support school trip finances by allocating codes, reconciling income/expenses and covering the ParentPay system as needed.
Post recharges, journal entries and budget adjustments as directed by the Management Accountant.
Maintain confidentiality, comply with financial controls and participate in training, CPD and Trust-wide initiatives.
