We are seeking a dedicated and skilled HWRC Operative (Grade 03) to join our Building Services & Maintenance team. As a key member of our operational staff, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of service delivery at our Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC). This position involves engaging with members of the public, ensuring a smooth and efficient recycling process, and maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the site. You will be responsible for supporting visitors in managing their waste, promoting sustainable practices, and providing educational insights into the recycling process. Additionally, you will collaborate with other team members to perform regular maintenance and inspections of the facility, maximizing operational effectiveness. Your ability to work in a dynamic environment and your strong communication skills will enable you to assist in resolving any issues that may arise. Responsibilities
Assist the public with waste disposal and recycling procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the HWRC facility.
Perform regular inspections of the site to ensure safety standards are met.
Support the operation of machinery and equipment used in waste processing.
Monitor and manage waste materials to optimize recycling efforts.
Engage with visitors to educate them on recycling practices and policies.
Collaborate with team members to resolve any operational issues as they arise.
Requirements
Previous experience in a customer service or facility maintenance role is preferred.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Knowledge of waste management and recycling processes is an advantage.
Willingness to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
Problem-solving skills to address challenges as they arise.
A valid driver's license is required for operational duties.

Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour £12.85
