Section 106 Project Officer

Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Section 106 Project Officer to join our dynamic team dedicated to effective urban planning and community development. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in managing and overseeing the planning obligations associated with Section 106 agreements. These agreements are crucial for ensuring that developers contribute to the necessary infrastructure and services needed to support new developments in our area. You will work closely with local authorities, developers, and community stakeholders to ensure compliance with planning policies, assess the impact of proposed developments, and negotiate terms that align with the community’s needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in planning or a related field, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to analyze complex legal documents. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and presenting findings to various stakeholders. Responsibilities
Manage and oversee Section 106 agreements related to new developments.
Collaborate with developers and local authorities to ensure agreement compliance.
Assess the impact of proposed developments on the community and existing infrastructure.
Prepare and present reports on Section 106 implications for various stakeholders.
Maintain accurate records of all Section 106 agreements and related documentation.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance community engagement in the planning process.
Advise and support the planning team on legal matters pertaining to Section 106 agreements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, environmental science, law, or a related field.
Proven experience in planning or project management, preferably in a public sector environment.
Strong understanding of planning legislation and Section 106 agreements.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including developers and community groups.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay Per Hour: £30.42
