Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to take on the role of Independent Chair Safeguarding And QA (LADO) at Grade 10. This position is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people within our community. The Independent Chair will lead the oversight and quality assurance processes related to safeguarding allegations made against individuals working with children. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including social workers, law enforcement, and educational institutions, to ensure thorough and fair investigations are conducted. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of knowledge in safeguarding practices and a strong understanding of local and national legislation. Additionally, the Independent Chair will be responsible for promoting and implementing best practices in safeguarding, driving improvements in policy and procedure to enhance the protection of vulnerable children. The successful applicant will have a clear focus on outcomes, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and possess the ability to influence and challenge other professionals positively. Responsibilities
Chair Safeguarding and Quality Assurance meetings to ensure proper investigation of allegations against individuals working with children.
Provide independent oversight of LADO referrals and monitor the progress of investigations to ensure timely and effective resolutions.
Review and evaluate policies and procedures related to safeguarding and make recommendations for improvements.
Collaborate with multi-agency partners, including local authorities, police, and education providers to promote effective safeguarding practices.
Facilitate training and development sessions for staff and stakeholders around safeguarding protocols and best practices.
Ensure compliance with national legislation, guidance, and local safeguarding policies; maintain awareness of changes in safeguarding frameworks.
Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records related to safeguarding cases and quality assurance findings.
Requirements
Extensive experience in safeguarding practice, particularly in children's services.
Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance related to safeguarding and child protection.
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to influence and motivate multi-agency teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders sensitively and effectively.
Proven analytical skills to assess and evaluate safeguarding processes and outcomes.
Experience in report writing, data analysis, and presenting findings to a range of audiences.
A relevant professional qualification in social work, child protection, or a related field.
