HGV1 Steel Driver – Kingswinford, West Midlands

Drivers Today are recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers for a specialist steel transport role in Kingswinford, West Midlands. This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity with a respected steel logistics company, ideal for drivers with a strong background in flatbed work.
Job Details:
Location: Kingswinford, West Midlands
Role: HGV1 Steel Driver – Flatbed
Vehicle: Flatbed (no curtains)
Pay: £17–£18 per hour (incl. holiday pay)
Type: Temp-to-perm
Pay Frequency: Weekly
️ Key Duties:
Transporting various steel products across the region
Securing loads using ratchet straps and chains
Ensuring safe handling and delivery of steel on flatbed vehicles
Performing vehicle checks and following site procedures
✅ Requirements:
Valid UK Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph
Minimum 2 years’ experience moving steel (for insurance purposes)
Proven ability to safely use ratchet straps and secure loads
Good route knowledge of Kingswinford, West Midlands, and surrounding areas
