Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

Are you looking to explore and develop your SEN experience? This 1-year fixed-term role is ideal for testing the waters of a rewarding SEN career.

Due to an increase in support required for our pupils with additional needs we are looking for a new GTA! You will work closely with our pupils, getting to know their needs and how to adapt your learning practice to help them shine.

We encourage interest and applications from candidates who are interested in and would thrive in working within nursery education which offers reward, challenge and where no two days are the same. We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for working with very young children, and experience working with children who have additional needs. We are working hard to develop our nurture provision for some of our most vulnerable children and we are looking to strengthen our team who work flexibly with all children who are on roll. This post is particularly focused on working intensively with children who require support with communication and interaction.

Key duties:

• Engage with children to develop sustained, shared thinking, and promote the characteristics of effective learning, as defined in the EYFS

• Prepare and maintain our learning environment
• Carry out routine tasks to support the work of teacher, HLTAs and ATAs
• Provide intensive support to some of our children with additional needs

You will:

• Be able to support in the delivery of high-quality learning experiences for all children, including those with SEND
• Have high expectations of learning and behaviour and inspire and motivate our children
• Be supportive, nurturing and understanding with high expectations
• Be one of our play people
• Seek to make learning exciting and a positive experience
• Work well as part of a large team
• Demonstrate good communication skills both orally and written

Essential Qualifications:

• Relevant NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent
