£16.00 per hour (umbrella)

Our client

Morgan Hunt are supporting a national homeless prevention charity who are looking to recruit a Progression Coach to work with young people experiencing homelessness on a temporary basis. Working hours are 37.5 hours per week (average), working across Monday - Sunday on a two-week rota of waking night shifts (9:30PM - 8AM).

The service provides supported accommodation for young people (aged 18+) to help them move on into their own independent accommodation offering support around independent living skills, budgeting and accessing education, training and employment opportunities.

The role - Progression Coach (Young People)

  • Undertake both lone working and working within a team responsible for delivering an assessment, support and move on service to young people aged 18+ in supported accommodation.
  • Support young people so that they can develop the skills and resilience to be confident and self-determining in their lives.
  • Maintain regular contact with the young people and recording interactions.
  • Liaise with external organisations around the needs of young people.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, including preparing accommodation for new clients and supporting their transition.
  • Complete risk assessments and support plans for young people.

The candidate

  • Excellent communication skills and commitment to the company values and ethos of the organisation.
  • Experience in working with care leavers, young people or other vulnerable groups.
  • Experience of Safeguarding in children and adults and operating safeguarding requirements and procedures.
  • Experience and confidence of lone working.
  • Strong literacy, numeracy and IT skills and ability to take notes.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries, work collaboratively and reflect on practices for continuous development.

Due to the nature of this role, an Enhanced DBS is required for the role.
