Who we are
Welcome to Projects Group. We are responsible for ensuring the organisation has firm foundations to successfully develop and deliver a large, complex and technically diverse portfolio of capital and revenue projects and programmes across Greater Manchester - on time, within budget and with the customer at the heart of what we do.
Our extensive portfolio of projects and programmes covers a significant number of areas within the different modes of transport infrastructure throughout Greater Manchester including Bus infrastructure, Metrolink, Rail, Electrification, Interchanges, Zero Emissions, Clean Air, Active Travel and Business Change just to name a few.
About the role
Over the next few months, we will have several Senior Project Control Engineer/Planner opportunities coming up within our well-established Programme Management Office (PMO). Our PMO is the engine room of Projects Group and plays a pivotal role in ensuring and maintaining successful project and programme delivery.
Our Senior Project Control Engineers are experienced senior members of the team who work alongside our existing team of commercial, risk and project management professionals to develop project schedules from first principles, establish comprehensive monitoring and methods of analysis with periodic reporting up to senior levels and make recommendations to the project and programme teams.
In addition, you will lead a small team of Project Control Engineers/Assistant Project Control Engineers whilst managing your own portfolio of projects and contribute to the continued development of the department.
What we need from you
What you do and how you do it is important whatever type of role you work in at TfGM and even small behaviours and actions can have a really big impact. At TfGM, our behaviours bring to life our values of Deliver, Care and Adapt.
You will have significant experience of working in a Project Controls environment with prior experience of complex highways, large civils infrastructure or rail projects being of advantage. You will be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of planning techniques, cost and change control, baseline management principles and be proficient in the use of Primavera (P6), Microsoft Project, Excel and SAP.
You should also be able to analyse contract programmes and understand the principles of NEC contract management in relation to programme.
Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to take initiative are essential. You will bring effective and supportive people management skills and be able to effectively manage both you own workload and that of other team members.
What we can offer you
These are permanent roles with a salary range of £68,424-£75,678 per annum depending on skills and experience. This is comprised of a base salary of £57,770-£65,024 plus a Market Factor Supplement (MFS) of £10,654 per annum which is paid monthly and reviewed on an annual basis.
