Summary
Do you want to work in a caring and professional environment where patients come first? Are you an enthusiastic, highlymotivatedand hardworking sonographer searching for a rewarding new role? #TeamUHD are looking for a sonographer to work in our ultrasound department.
Our ultrasound team is split overfoursites, Poole, Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch hospitalsand our Community Diagnostics Centre at the Health Sciences University in Boscombe. We carry outalltypes of ultrasound examinationsincludinggeneral medical, obstetrics, gynaecology, vascular, paediatrics, including neonatal hips and neonatal heads, and musculoskeletal. We also scan as part of the Early Pregnancy clinic, various one-stop clinics and provide a7-dayultrasound service.
Wearea friendly, supportive team, responsible for independently performing and reporting ultrasound examinations while ensuring the highest standard of patient care. We strive to deliver the best ultrasound service to ourpatients;we are one teamunited in ourpassion for patient care.
Across the trust there are 10 general ultrasound rooms, 7 obstetric rooms, 2 Early Pregnancy Clinic rooms and 1 Gynae room. There is a mix of Philips, GE,Canonand Samsung ultrasound systems throughout the department. This is an incredibly exciting time to join us as we transform our services across Dorset.
UHD Radiology department actively encourages CPD, supporting both internal and external educational events. Within ultrasound we promote regular audits, support the training of student sonographers and MSc level qualifications. We are considerate towards protecting staff against RSI with up-to- date ergonomic equipment and ultrasound lists designed to support safe practice. UHD Radiology isUKAS accredited to both Quality Standard for Imaging and BS70000standards.
The successful candidate would need to be able to work both independently and as part of our team whilstdemonstratinghigh levelsof competency. Excellent communication skills, outstanding interpersonal skills together with a caring and professional attitude are essential.
The post is full time across all sites, although a part time position and flexible working would also be considered.
