Summary

We wish to appoint a Science Technician on a temporary, fixed term, part-time contract to start on 4th September 2025, and end on 31st August 2026. However, should the successful candidate wish, this contract could end at Easter or 31st May 2026. The hours of work are 31.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 9.15am to 4:00pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, term time only. The salary for this position is paid at NJC Point 5-6 pro rata (£24,790 - £25,183 for full-time equivalent - actual salary is £17,507 - £17,785). The successful candidate will be joining a strong and effective team of three technicians led by a Senior Science Technician, in providing support to teaching staff, particularly in the preparation and cleaning/clearing of lesson materials. An interest in the science and experience of working with children is desirable. However, experience of working as a science technician is not essential as training will be provided to the right candidate.Katharine Lady Berkeley’s School is a very successful comprehensive with excellent results at GCSE and at A Level.
