Summary

SEN Specialist Outreach Tutor - Havering

ABOUT THE ROLE
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated SEN Specialist Outreach Tutor to deliver bespoke 1:1 education packages to young people in Havering who are currently out of school. This role is ideal for experienced professionals trained in ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis), speech and language therapy, or related specialisms, who are passionate about making a real difference to vulnerable students' lives.

As an Outreach Tutor, you will create, plan, and deliver tailored lessons designed to bridge educational gaps, rebuild confidence, and promote engagement and progress. Many of the young people you work with will have been out of education for a while and may have complex needs, so your specialist skills in behaviour management, communication, and personalised learning strategies will be essential.

You will work closely with Prospero Teaching's Education team to monitor progress and adapt learning plans, ensuring every student receives the support they need to thrive.

CONTRACT DETAILS
- Location: Various locations across Havering
- Position: SEN Specialist Outreach Tutor
- Contract Type: Temporary, contract-based
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: Dependent on individual student needs
- Hours: Flexible, from 1 to 3 hours per session; part-time or full-time available
- Pay Rate: Starting at £25 per hour (dependent on experience)

REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant qualifications such as QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS, or equivalent
- Specialist training in ABA, speech and language therapy, or related SEN disciplines
- Minimum of 6 months' experience working in UK schools or specialist settings
- Current safeguarding training (within the last year) is desirable
- Experience supporting pupils with complex needs and delivering personalised learning

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Right to Work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS certificate with online update service or willingness to apply for one
- Two professional child-related references covering the last two years
