Summary

Main duties and responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction for commercial and innovation activities in alignment with the University’s strategy, focusing on portfolio growth, external engagement, and diversification of income through educational partnerships.
- Drive the development of new programmes and services. Working with colleagues, scope and launch initiatives such as degree apprenticeships, online education, short courses and CPD that align with market demand.
- Build and sustain extensive networks and partnerships with external stakeholders including businesses, industry bodies, employers, educational partners, and community organisations.
- Lead on educational partnerships, including TNE activity, maintaining the quality and provision of partnerships.
- Develop and enhance the Faculty accreditation strategy, such as AACSB and Small Business Charter, ensuring continuous improvement in quality metrics across our programme portfolio.
- Lead on all aspects of enterprise engagement within the Faculty, championing a culture of innovation and enterprise. Identify opportunities for working with external organizations, such as consultancy projects, KTPs, professional training programs, and business engagement initiatives.
- Act as a representative for the Faculty in external forums. Promote the Faculty’s brand and reputation by engaging with industry networks, employer groups, professional associations, and media as appropriate.
- Work proactively with the Executive Dean / Deputy Deans in meeting the University’s enabling strategies.
- To teach on any of the taught programmes as required and contribute to programme planning and review.
- Personally contribute to international research/knowledge exchange and in developing a supportive research environment.
- To undertake any other appropriate duties as requested by the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law.
