A Vacancy at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Dietitian to join our nationally renowned Home Enteral Feeding Service in Bristol – Home Management Services (HMS) - this role may be suitable for secondment (with your manager's support). We are proud to be part of the wider Nutrition & Dietetic team at UHBW (University Hospitals Bristol & Weston NHS Foundation Trust). This fixed term role (until 17th Aug 2026) has become vacant due to internal secondment.

You will join a team of experienced & friendly Dietitians, Assistants, & admin staff to support a large caseload of people enterally feeding in the community – currently 730 patients. We work in close partnership with our commercial partner, through the enteral feeding contract. Based at Central Health Clinic in Bristol, we cover an area of 500 square miles, stretching from Weston-Super-Mare to Bath & Thornbury, however with fantastic IT infrastructure we support remote working, so you will not have to travel into the city centre office on a daily basis. An enquiring mind coupled with enthusiasm is needed to get the best out of this opportunity, &, as travel is an integral part of the job, you must be a driver with own transport.

You will be an HCPC registered Dietitian with a sound working experience of enteral nutrition support, with long term conditions, & ideally a relevant post graduate qualification.

This vacancy may close early if we receive high volumes of applicants

The service supports tube fed adults and children who live in their own homes, care homes and other community facilities. You will manage your own caseload and diary, so being able to manage your time efficiently, work on your own initiative, but also as part of a wider multi-professional team are essential attributes. Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication skills are vital, with a proven ability to communicate with people from wide socio-economic & cultural backgrounds.

We offer excellent opportunities for professional and personal development and encourage involvement in audit, service evaluation and research, and take an active part in student training.

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) is one of the largest acute Trusts in the country, bringing together a combined workforce of over 13,000 staff and over 100 different clinical services across 10 different sites, serving a core population of more than 500,000 people across South West England. UHBW has been rated by the CQC as ‘Good’ overall and our staff are proud to deliver excellent care to the people of Bristol, Weston and beyond. As a forward- thinking multi-award winning Trust and a digital exemplar committed to improving patient care, our world-leading research and innovations are having a positive local and global impact. Our hospitals are spread across Bristol and Weston, join us and you can enjoy the very best of both worlds; city living within a stone’s throw of the countryside or beside the seaside, both with easy access to all that the South West has to offer. UHBW is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. As an equal opportunities employer actively working towards a diverse workforce we aim to recruit and retain a workforce which represents the rich diversity of the local population at all levels and are committed to designing our services around the needs of individual patients and those around them. Anonymous information will be used from your application in order to ensure we’re meeting our pledge.

You will be responsible for delivering dietetic services to home enteral tube feeding patients and their carers throughout the wider Bristol area, including assessment, advice and monitoring. This will be delivered in people's homes, care homes, schools etc.

Work-life balance and staff wellbeing is very important to us – we benefit from excellent wellbeing resources, supervision, and flexible working. Bristol is a vibrant multicultural university city surrounded by beautiful countryside, so can offer an extensive range of leisure activities to suit everyone.

So what are you waiting for? If are you keen to build long and lasting relationships with patients and carers - where you can really see the impact of your contribution - come and join us. We actively encourage you to call us for a conversation about the role and welcome any questions or queries you may have.
