Summary

This role is based in the UK and will be working on site in our UK based College.

In order to comply with our mandatory pre-employment checks, the successful candidate will be required to provide original identification documents in person to our UK based People Services Department.

This is a term time only post and is pro rata. The salary you will be receiving is £12,811.87 – £13,676.24 per annum. For any roles that start part way through the academic year, the annual salary will be pro rata to the remaining months

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this position as you will be working within 'Regulated Activity' within a specific place (i.e. the College).

BACKGROUND TO THE POST

Warwickshire College Group has an excellent reputation for vocational education & training, awarded Beacon status for Employer Engagement. This, coupled with the continued success of industrial partnerships with national and local land-based companies, has led to an expansion in both the range and provision of land-based programmes.

In our determination to develop further both our service and responsiveness to local, regional and national industry we are seeking an enthusiastic individual to work closely with both the teaching and the work-based teams to develop industrial links, provide training and assessment of students in Healthcare.

The post holder will be a member of the Health & Education Studies Department and report directly to the Head of Department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To assess Early Years students in work placement against exam board criteria focussed on occupational competency.
• To be able to guide and support students to complete their qualification successfully.
• To be able to mentor individual candidates and monitor their academic and vocational progress, by carrying out formal progress reviews with individuals and their employers.
• To be able to carry out formal assessments; support the learners with generating evidence and completing all necessary portfolio paperwork, including referencing of evidence and presenting portfolio for internal and external verification.
• To be responsible for checking the completion of the occupational competencies; to include liaison with tutors on the delivery and completion of the students’ course.
• To ensure all students are aware of the Health & Safety Guidelines.
• To ensure student tracking is kept up to date and accurate and work with the course manager and academic staff.
• Monitor and report on student progress.

In order to support during busy exam periods, you may be asked to undertake exam invigilator duties. The College will provide training.

Essential Attainments

✓An Assessor award A1, or equivalent or a willingness to achieve the qualification.
✓A minimum of a level 3 qualification in a Healthcare discipline.
✓A teaching qualification or the willingness to undertake the Certificate of Education. These qualifications are mandatory for all trainers who teach on a publicly funded provision.
✓Evidence of formal structured training.
✓GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics, or Level 2 equivalent qualification.
✓An Internal Verification award or a willingness to achieve the qualification
