Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of our Asset Performance (AP) Teams within East Anglia.

You will take an active role in managing our Flood Risk Assets which includes Public Safety assessments on assets, data management and communicating with the public and other stakeholders. In addition to this your work area’s may include supporting projects and travelling across East Anglia (EAN) to support other AP teams when required. Your work will be varied, and you will be supported to grow your skills, knowledge and experience in your role.

This role requires a diverse range of transferrable skills. Working closely with other colleagues and teams, you can expect to be involved in any of the following:
- leading on public safety risk assessments and compliance for the team
- asset inspections (including coordinating specialist inspections)
- data input and improvement
- managing maintenance contractors
- work planning
- asset repair projects and supporting paperwork
- working with communities and partners
- incident response.

The role will involve travelling to multiple sites around East Anglia. A vehicle will be available for you to use for business travel, so a full UK Driving Licence is essential.

The team

The Broadland Team sits within the Asset Performance department in local operations and is responsible for many operational and linear assets including 200km of flood embankment.

The assets mitigate flood risk to communities and environmentally sensitive habitats.

We work closely with other organisations including the Broads Authority and the Internal Drainage Boards. Part of your role will be working with a wide range of different teams within the agency to ensure delivery of key priorities.

Experience/skills required

Essential:
• Excellent communication skills.
• A desire to learn and participate in improving ways of working.
• Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers.
• An appreciation of asset management.
• Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team to make decisions and achieve planned outcomes.
• Good organisational skills and a knowledge of a range of IT packages such as MS Office and generic databases.
• Full UK driving licence.

It would be helpful, but not essential, if you had:
• Experience carrying out Public Safety Risk Assessments.
• Administering asset data and reporting on performance experience.
• Experience Managing contractors.
• Asset management qualifications.
• Experience with using Asset Information Management Systems (AIMS)
