Summary
To work as part of a team responsible for the collection of household, recycling, commercial, food, and garden waste. The postholder will assist in delivering a reliable, efficient, and safe refuse and recycling collection service to residents and businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
Load waste and recycling materials onto collection vehicles, following safe lifting and handling procedures.
Work alongside the driver and crew to ensure timely completion of assigned routes and tasks.
Ensure waste is collected from the correct locations in accordance with agreed service standards.
Return bins, boxes, and containers to their designated places after emptying.
Report any contaminated bins, non-presented containers, or access issues to the team leader.
Maintain a polite and professional attitude toward members of the public.
Comply with all health and safety policies, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Clear spillages, litter, and other waste materials where necessary to maintain cleanliness.
Participate in the collection of bulky items, fly-tipping clearance, and special waste services when required.
Attend mandatory training sessions and toolbox talks.
