Graduate RE Trainee Teacher – Candidate Specification

We are on the lookout for a Graduate RE Trainee Teacher who holds:

2:1 or 1st class degree in Religious Education, Theology, Philosophy, Ethics, or a related subject form a Russell Group or Top-30 University
Strong academic background through GCSE’s and A-Levels especially in Religious Education
• Passionate about RE subject and eager to communicate that passion in engaging, creative ways
• Committed to a long-term career in education and excited to gain QTS while working.
• Experienced working with young people through tutoring, mentoring, school work, or volunteering (highly desirable).

Graduate RE Trainee Teacher – Job Responsibilities

As a Graduate RE Trainee Teacher, you’ll work towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) over the course of one year while gaining full-time experience in the classroom.

Teaching small groups and full classes under guidance, gradually progressing to independent teaching as you train.
Adapting content to support learners of all abilities—stretching high achievers while scaffolding learning for those who need additional support.
Supporting the planning and delivery of engaging, accessible RE lessons that explore theology, philosophy, ethics, and world religions.
Using behavioural management techniques to maintain a focused, respectful classroom environment in line with school values.
Collaborating with staff, attending training and contributing to departmental development while reflecting on your own teaching practice
