Deputy Nursery Manager – Brand New Nursery Opening | Up to £37,000
Our client is preparing to open a brand-new, purpose-built nursery and is seeking an experienced and inspiring Deputy Nursery Manager to join the leadership team from the very beginning.
This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape a new setting from the ground up – working alongside the Nursery Manager to create a warm, inclusive environment where children and staff can flourish. If you’re passionate about early years and have a strong background in delivering high standards of care and education, this could be your perfect next step.
As the Deputy Nursery Manager, you will support the Nursery Manager in the daily running of the setting, helping to establish a strong team, maintain compliance, and ensure the delivery of outstanding care and education. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone confident, organised, and committed to achieving excellence in early years practice.
What We're Looking For
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or above) – essential
- Proven experience in a Deputy Manager role or as a Room Leader/Third in Charge with excellent leadership skills
- A strong understanding of the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements
- A track record of supporting or contributing to Good or Outstanding Ofsted inspections
- Excellent communication, organisational, and people skills
- A proactive and positive approach with a genuine love for early years

Key Responsibilities
- Support the setup and successful launch of the nursery alongside the Manager
- Help lead, motivate, and inspire the nursery team to deliver high-quality care and learning
- Contribute to staff recruitment, induction, and ongoing training
- Support compliance with all statutory requirements including safeguarding, health & safety, and EYFS delivery
- Build strong, trusting relationships with parents, carers, and the local community
- Lead room practice when required and step into the Manager’s role in their absence
- Contribute to planning, observations, and assessment to ensure every child thrives
