Summary

The Re-Fashion Coordinator is a new role to support income generation in The Re-Fashion Hub, an upcycling workshop based in Bradford Superstore. This is a new sustainability project that takes unsellable textile donations and rescues, repairs and repurposes them into sellable items that can then be resold in Barnardo's stores. The Re-Fashion Hub is staffed by volunteers and this role will be to support the volunteers and ensure the hub is able to be occupied more regularly and therefore generate more revenue.

The Re-Fashion Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the day to day operations of The Re-Fashion Hub and ensuring profit is maximised from unsellable textiles donated to Barnardo's. The core of this role will be assisting with recruitment of, directing and leading Re-Fashion Volunteers and building relationships with the local community to promote The Re-Fashion Hub and explore partnership opportunities.

Key responsibilities:

To lead, supervise and train Re-Fashion Volunteers.
Collaborate with retail colleagues and marketing on seasonal campaigns and promotional activity.
Ensure all health and safety procedures and safe operating practices are understoon and adhered to.
Process unsellable stock in the best way to generate income and rescue items from the waste chain whilst ensuring zero waste is produced.

Pay & Reward Framework
We know that our colleagues go above and beyond in delivering our vital work, driven by their passion and commitment to Barnardo's values.  We also know that we can only realise our ambitions and achieve better outcomes for more children, thanks to the talent, hard work and creativity of our people.

For all these reasons, we are committed to a new approach to pay and reward, to ensure it is fair, attractive and progressive, which was rolled out in April 2023. This is a positive change for the charity, and a part of our People & Culture Strategy. It will assist us in supporting colleagues to belong, thrive and grow in their colleague journey at Barnardo's and in time will offer clear routes of progression for colleagues in both their career and their pay.

Whilst the full pay band and salary range is advertised, our approach to starting salaries is to appoint between the minimum to mid-point of the pay band – this ensures that pay steps are available to reward our colleagues annually based on their contribution to excellence and alignment to our values and behaviours.  More details on Barnardo's pay framework can be found upon application.
