Summary
Within the OFI, a new Investment Marketing, Propositions & Digital Promotion division has been created to develop a more comprehensive investment proposition, marketing, and digital offer as well as service to the investment network (internal) and investors (external).
In this division, the Investment Marketing & Propositions team will be responsible for coordinating the planning/scheduling, production, and dissemination of propositions and other collateral to promote the UK as a destination for investment. Working in close collaboration with others across DBT and broader government, the team will develop a clear Why UK? investment offer, founded on place-based strengths and aligned to sector/policy priority areas. It would reflect the objectives of the industrial strategy and exploit sector plans being developed by OGDs by developing corresponding market-facing propositions for super-sectors and relevant sub-sectors. The OFI needs to make the most of the UK’s offer and effectively package and sell that offer to both international and domestic investors.
The Head of Investment Marketing & Propositions (G6) role leads this team, reporting to the Deputy Director Investment Marketing & Digital. The team includes 4x G7, 2x SEO, 1x HEO.
Key accountabilities will include:
• Supporting the Deputy Director to transform the capacity and capability of the marketing function of the new OFI organisation, including clear strategy targeting of owned and shared (e.g., GREAT) resources, ensuring that contractors (OCO) and other teams (analysts) are contributing effectively and efficiently and bringing in new resources with the right professional skill-sets to deliver.
• Ensuring that the pipeline of propositions is credible, compelling, and aligned to OFI, DBT, & wider HMG policy initiatives, including e.g., the Industrial Strategy.
• Leading your function to ensure that the pipeline of propositions is effectively shared with the broader DBT global network, building capability and awareness.
• Transforming the current engagement approach to DBT’s global network.
• Help your team build strong relationships across the OFI and broader DBT network to support the development of propositions and delivery to the investment network and markets.
• Lead in establishing a collaborative approach to working with other teams on marketing and propositions (including the central Communications and Marketing function) to e.g., design and deliver investment marketing campaigns, highlight good news stories / major policy announcements in appropriate way to enhance investor sentiments.
• Ensure that investment marketing activity utilises the appropriate, high-quality collateral and has clear audience-appropriate messaging, taking into account the goals and ambitions of HMTC colleagues in particular.
