Summary


ROLE SUMMARY

In this rewarding leadership role, you will oversee a dedicated, multidisciplinary team that are committed to delivering high-quality mental health care to Veterans, Reservists, and Service Leavers. This team is unique in that we cover the six counties of the East of England and comprise of six contracted clinical and non-clinical partner organisations. The team offer a blend of face-to-face and remote working.

As a Clinical Team Lead, you will be the first level of management representation, at the forefront of the care offer that we provide.

The post holder will be responsible for providing effective leadership for Op Courage Veterans Mental Health and Wellbeing Service, East of England, providing a high quality service within the resources available within our defined area, and specifically to deliver on the following key areas:


• Management of referrals including delivery of care both via the Triage, Assessment and Brief Intervention Team (TABI) and the Treatment pathway within Op Courage.
• Chairing effective MDT meetings, ensuring sound clinical decision making and safe coordination of all the pathways
• Line management and supervision of staff in line with Trust procedure and policy.
• To communicate effectively with the various providers involved in the delivery of Op Courage in the East of England, and the third sector organisations outside of this team.

About You
• You bringstrong clinical expertiseand a proven track record in mental health services, ideally within a community setting.
• You are aconfident leaderwith a desire to inspire confidence, uphold a professional standard, and support professional development.

· You havecultural competencewith regards to understanding the specific needs of the Armed Forces Community and the challenges they may have faced with service life, or you have a keen willingness to develop your understanding and cultural competency.
• You areassertiveand will look to maintain a current knowledge of practices, local and national policies and agendas in relation to Veterans mental health

· Youempowerstaff to provide high quality care by identifying and addressing specific needs within the client group, helping them to empower their own clientsto become experts in managing and taking responsibility for their own condition.

· You havegood communication skillsand will be able to manage liaison and maintenance of relationships across a wide range of organisations, including the third sector.

What is Staff Bank?

Key Responsibilities



The post holder will be responsible for providing effective leadership for Op Courage, East of England, providing a high quality service across the patch. This will include:



· The management of referrals and initial assessments via the TABI team (Triage, Assessment and Brief Intervention), ensuring we meet our set key performance indicators (KPIs).

· Management of case allocations and caseload monitoring within the Treatment Pathway

· Support staff in the development of person centred and evidence-based care plans and risk assessments, and monitor these through supervision and audit.

· Provision of Supervisions, Appraisals, and monitoring of Mandatory training compliance in line with trust policy and procedure.

· The service is primarily a Monday-Friday 9-5 service, however there is an expectation that Band 6 clinicians work one weekend on a rota basis roughly every 8 weeks, with two weekdays off during this week. Although you will not be on this rota, there is an expectation to coordinate this rota and manage the work requested of staff on their weekend duty.

· This post will involve working within the collaborative provision of the Op Courage Veterans Mental Health Service, which includes another NHS Trust and charity partners. This means that the post-holder will need to ensure a high degree of communication with working partners

· The post holder will have responsibility to manage complaint and incident procedures, as well as support with safeguarding responsibilities, in line with Trust policy.

· You may be required to have clinical patient contact to support clients and staff. This may include undertaking initial assessments to support service capacity where required, or where your skills as an experienced clinician may be beneficial in particular cases.

· The post holder will work as part of the MDT and will be required to support in the chairing of relevant MDT meetings and other meetings as relevant to the service. This will involve a degree of clinical oversight and planning, supported by senior team members including psychology representation.

· There may be other clinical responsibilities involving onward referral and contact with other providers/outside agencies in both statutory and third sector across the EoE patch.

· To have oversight and be able to provide relevant data and themes to the Deputy Lead, for reporting to commissioners and to aid in the understanding of service functionality/provision.

· Advocate for the needs of the Armed Forces Community.
