The role:
We are seeking a competent and experienced Chartered Building Surveyor to effectively deliver building surveying services across the Council’s commercial property portfolio.
Key responsibilities include:
Programming and Conducting building condition surveys and developing a Planned Property Maintenance (PPM) programme
Prioritising and overseeing maintenance works across the commercial estate
Preparing drawings and work schedules, and managing projects of varying scale and complexity
Creating and providing future maintenance budgets for financial planning
assist with the compilation and analysis of data and information in relation to commercial property standards, business plans and stock investment strategies
Ensure timely delivery of works within budget and aligned to annual spend profiles
Comply with relevant legislation, building regulations, planning requirements, and CDM Regulations
Diagnose structural/building issues on-site and specify remedial works
Prepare and coordinate project documentation, including tenders and work schedules
What the client is looking for:
MRICS qualified with 5+ years’ experience in building surveying, stock investment, maintenance, improvement and feasibility studies
Strong expertise in building surveying, maintenance, works programming, drawing preparation, scheduling, and project management
Thorough knowledge of contract compliance and statutory duties
Proven track record in partnership working
Skilled in budget control and financial management
Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities
Full driving licence with access to a vehicle
