Do you have interests in supporting and caring for children’s needs? We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Child Development Officers to work in our Gaelic medium education settings. About the Role: Our Child Development Officer posts are placed across the city based on service requirements. You will be provided with work consistently for your hours and will be expected to work across our Early Years establishments, to support operational service delivery. In all our roles you will assist and support Early Years colleagues in the delivery of a high standard of education whilst actively supporting and assisting in the delivery of an inclusive and diverse Early Years service. Key Responsibilities: • Building positive working relationships with children within the nursery whilst actively supporting and promoting positive behaviour. • Supporting and assisting with the delivery of the Early Years curriculum inclusive of outdoor play and learning. • Assist in the development and implementations of plans and programmes to ensure the needs of all service users are met. • Participating in inspection processes in line with legislative and procedural compliance. • Maintaining confidentiality at all times. • Work as part of the Early Years team in partnership with all relevant stakeholders i.e. parents/carers, health professionals etc. What We Seek: • You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to be an effective team member who can assist and support colleagues. • You will have the ability to assist in the delivery of the Early Years curriculum. • You will have a flexible approach with the ability to use initiative. • A relevant qualification as required by the Scottish Social Services (SSSC) for registration as a practitioner in the day care of children’s services, such as an HNC Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 7 (formerly HNC Early Education and Childcare) , SVQ Social Services Children and Young People at SCQF Level 7, or equivalent. • Fluent Gaelic speaker • Some knowledge of Gaelic language and willing to develop skills further • Experience of working in a Gaelic setting • The preferred candidate will be required to obtain membership of the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to formal offer of employment being made. • The preferred candidate will be eligible for SSSC membership.
