We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work within the Environmental Health team, assisting with the regulation of housing legislation and wider public health work undertaken by the team.

This role is vital in supporting the Council’s efforts to improve housing standards within the private housing sector and public health.

You will assist in activities undertaken to enforce the Registration of Private Landlords, including assisting with the investigation of unregistered landlords.

You will also assist in dealing with enquiries and complaints of housing disrepair within the private sector, public health and environmental issues, and support enforcement actions under associated legislation.

You will also provide advice to the public and stakeholders on relevant environmental and housing legislation as well as property standards, Short Term Let licensing and regulation of Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO).

You are required to be educated to Higher level and have previous experience of public health or housing related activities, ideally having relevant experience within an enforcement role.

You should have strong reporting and communication skills as well as having the ability to work within a team and on your own initiative with minimal supervision.

If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
