An exciting opportunity has arisen within Falkirk Councils Housing Needs Service for a Housing Needs Assessment Officer. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team offering advice, support, and assistance for those who are in housing need or threatened with homeless.

You will focus on the prevention and alleviation of homelessness and the key role will be carrying out interviews with customers who are homeless or threatened with homelessness and undertaking assessments of customers housing and support needs to ensure that appropriate support is identified whilst implementing the Council legal duties to provide homeless services.

You will be able to work as part a team, prioritise workloads and work to tight deadlines and should have knowledge of Housing and Homelessness legislation. Applicants should possess excellent interpersonal skills and have a sympathetic manner when dealing with customers.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.

This post is temporary until August 2026 to cover maternity leave.
