Job Title: Teaching Assistant with Midday Duties

TA Hours: 27.5 per week (Mon-Friday 8.30am to 12pm & 1.30pm to 3.30pm)

MDA Hours: 5 per week (Mon-Fri 12pm-1pm)

TA Salary: £15,759.64 - £16,009.48 (Scale 3 pro rata)

MDA Salary: £2777.20 (Scale 1 pro rata)

Contract: Term Time, Part Time, Fixed Term until 31st August 2026

Start Date: 1st September 2025






The Trustees of the Kirkstead Education Trust at Hursthead Junior School are excited to invite applications for a dedicated teaching assistant to support a pupil with diverse academic and emotional needs on a one-on-one basis. Alongside this teaching assistant role, the successful candidate will also work as a midday assistant during lunchtime.

The successful candidate will enjoy working with children and have the skills and knowledge to support all children. You will demonstrate the ability to:

Work effectively as part of a close-knit team to provide comprehensive support for the student

Work well with other staff and outside agencies

Provide one-on-one academic support and implement individualised learning plans

Be resilient in the face of challenges, taking direction from senior leaders and class teachers, as well as working on your own initiative

Behave in a positive, professional manner within a team environment, remaining calm and patient, even in challenging situations

Work within school policies and procedures to keep children safe
