Salary: Grade H. Scale 29 - £38,626 to Scale 34 - £43,693 with a professional bar at SCP 31 £40,476**

The Role
This is an exciting, fixed term role, within the council’s communications team as they work closely with the digital team to who are transforming how customers interact with Tameside Council. The £5m transformation programme will enable consistently good customer experience across all customer contact channels. We need a senior communications officer to lead both the internal and external communications, raising awareness of the changes and benefits to our residents and employees. While this role will have a clear focus on the customer experience transformation programme, there will be the opportunity to be involved in broader communications work across the council.
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent written and verbal communications skills to join us and help promote the wide-ranging benefits of our customer experience transformation programme.
We welcome applications from those who have previous years of experience working within marketing and communications and taking the lead on programmes of work. You should be able to evidence previous successful campaigns that have achieved organisation objective and taken learning from robust evaluation.
We need someone who can manage their busy workload, be creative and put forward ideas, taking ownership of tasks from start to finish. You need to be able to communicate with communities and a range of levels of stakeholders including having experience of working with media. You will have good knowledge of social media and a range of communications methods.
