Summary
Based across the Royal London and Newham sites, the successful candidate will provide general and acute neurology care, lead on developing a neuromuscular disorders clinic, and contribute to our vibrant multidisciplinary service. With a structured and varied job plan in place, the role offers a balance of outpatient work, inpatient referrals, academic activity, and clinical leadership.
You’ll be joining a large, experienced department that supports a wide-ranging population across East London, working alongside a collaborative team of consultants and clinical nurse specialists. The post provides excellent opportunities for service development, education, and clinical innovation, with access to a dedicated Neurology Clinical Research Unit and support for professional development. We are looking for a clinician who shares our values of compassionate care, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
· To contribute to the provision of a comprehensive and efficient acute and general neurology service.
· To share responsibility with all consultant colleagues for providing evidence-based standards of care for all inpatients and outpatients, providing and receiving support to colleagues when required.
· To have regard at all times to the clinical and quality standards set out in the Patients Charter and the local purchasers’ contracts.
· To liaise effectively and on a timely basis with General Practitioners, community services and all healthcare agencies.
· To maintain and promote team and multi-disciplinary work with the specialties working closely and regularly with Neurology.
· To encourage and foster clinical governance at clinical, managerial and medical levels and to take part in regional audit in support of evidence-based medicine.

To adhere to Trust policy and infection control principles and standards to minimise patient risk and ensure high quality patient care.
Undertake appropriate training and practice to ensure you (and your teams) have the right skills and are competent.
Are responsible for keeping the environment clutter free, clean and raising issues of concern in the interest of staff and patient safety.
Ensure high cleaning standards to prevent infection and increase patient's confidence.
Work together and with others to design the Barts Health IPC Service in line with national guidance.
With others, support and develop good IPC practices consistent with national guidance and the Trust's Pathfinder Strategy.
Advise and support the Director of Infection Control and Prevention (DIPC), Deputy DIPC and infection control team in achieving their objectives and fulfilling their responsibilities.
Advise and support Divisional and CAU Infection Control leads.
