Summary
Thorpe Lea Primary School and Nursery are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily activities of the nursery, ensuring that each child receives the attention and care they need to thrive. This is a permanent role, term-time only, for 32.5hours per week Monday - Friday. Job overview
Assist in the planning and implementation of educational activities that promote children's development and learning.
Provide high-quality care for children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Support children in their daily routines, including feeding, dressing, and personal hygiene.
Communicate effectively with children, encouraging their social skills and emotional development.
Collaborate with other staff members to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the nursery.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the nursery environment, including toys and equipment.
Observe and record children's progress, sharing insights with senior staff as necessary.Job requirements
A minimum of 3 GCSEs at C grade or above, including English and Maths
Teaching Assistant qualification desirable
Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education is highly desirable but training will be provided Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in tandem with teaching staff
Ability to be empathetic and understanding to the needs of studentsFlexibility to adapt to changing situations within the nursery setting.
