Summary

Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant - 1:1 SEN Support
Location: Crawley
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Are you passionate about making a real difference in children's lives? Do you have a nurturing and patient approach to learning?

Randstad Education is working closely with local primary schools who are now focusing all Teaching Assistant (TA) support on providing 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs. This rewarding role involves helping children overcome learning and behavioural challenges, supporting their social, emotional, and academic development.

About the Role:

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting children with a range of additional needs, including but not limited to:

  • Speech and Language Difficulties

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

  • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

  • Behavioural Challenges

You will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to tailor learning strategies, monitor progress, and ensure each child receives the support they need to thrive.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children, ideally in an educational or care setting

  • A calm, empathetic, and patient approach

  • Confidence supporting children with SEN or behavioural needs

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • A willingness to learn and adapt to individual student needs

Requirements:

  • GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above)

  • Enhanced Child DBS (we can assist if needed)

  • Eligibility to work in the UK (no sponsorship provided)

  • Relevant experience with SEN is highly desirable
