Summary

Due to an increase in student FT and Apprenticeship applications, Weymouth and Kingston Maurward College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Welding & Fabrication Lecturer to join our team and deliver to a Level 3 standard. We are committed to providing high-quality education and fostering a stimulating learning environment that nurtures innovation and academic excellence.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a welding/fabrication professional to make a career change moving either from industry into Further Education or from an alternative educational provider. This role involves delivering theory and practical topics across the Level 2 and 3 Engineering curriculum, including subject areas such as Metal Inert Gas (MIG), Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) and Manual Metal Arc (MMA) with an emphasis on dexterity skills including overhead and vertical welding techniques. It also requires you to express your hand-fitting specialisations/industrial experience with the next generation of welders.
You may also be an experienced tutor or assessor, looking for a change or a new challenge. Whatever your rationale, this role is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference. We would welcome applications from individuals with experience of any of the following specialisms Metal Inert Gas (MIG), Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) and Manual Metal Arc (MMA) linked to extolling departmental curriculum flexibility.
Within this role the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering outstanding teaching and learning opportunities up to Level 3/4 which includes study programmes and apprenticeships within manufacturing engineering in both a workshop and classroom environment.
You will hold a vocational qualification at Level 3 or above, as well as a relevant teaching qualification and assessors award, or be willing to work towards meeting Awarding Body standards in conducting Internal Quality processes supported by your industrial experience.
