Graduate Academic Mentor Opportunities – Bournemouth & Poole Secondary Schools

Start Date: September 2025
Location: Secondary schools in Bournemouth & Poole

Are you graduating this year with a 2:1 or higher from a Russell Group or Top 20 UK university?

Would you like to begin a rewarding career in education by gaining hands-on classroom experience within a supportive secondary school environment?

We are partnering with two ambitious and welcoming secondary schools—one in Bournemouth and one in Poole—both part of a high-performing Multi Academy Trust. These schools are recruiting Graduate Academic Mentors to join their teams from September 2025. These are full-time, paid roles offering an excellent foundation for anyone aspiring to a career in education.

Subjects in Demand:
  • Science (all disciplines)


  • Mathematics


  • Modern Foreign Languages (especially Spanish and some French)


  • Geography


  • Nutrition / Food Technology


  • English


  • History

      Role and Responsibilities:
      • Support classroom teachers during subject lessons and general learning activities


      • Provide one-to-one and small group interventions to enhance student understanding and confidence


      • Assist with classroom organisation and behaviour management


      • Help prepare lesson plans and learning resources


      • Foster positive relationships with students and staff


      • Gain insight into the daily workings of a busy secondary school


        Ideal Candidate:
        • Holds or is predicted to achieve a 2:1 or above from a Russell Group or Top 20 university


        • Passionate about working with young people and supporting their learning journeys


        • Interested in at least one of the target subject areas listed above


        • Reliable, adaptable, and keen to engage fully in school life


        • Experience working with young people (formal or informal) is desirable but not essential
