37 hours per week, Shift working over seven days

£34,873 - £35,605 / £36,448 - £39,021

£18.08 - £18.46 / £18.89 - £20.23 per hour

The above amounts include Shift Allowance and Distant Islands Allowance

Braeburn Court is located in St Margaret’s Hope and comprises of a purpose-built extra care facility and respite service for older people.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person who is able to work both on an individual basis and as a member of a team. You will adopt a person-centred, outcome focused approach to deliver a high standard of flexible and responsive care to service users within the service. You will provide support and assistance to service users using the re-ablement approach that includes support and assistance to maximise and maintain their independence and to access community facilities.

You should have knowledge and experience of support planning and risk assessing in relation to people who have disabilities and be committed to the principles of social inclusion. Experience of key working would also be an advantage.

To be appointed to Grade E:

You should hold an SVQ2 or equivalent qualification in Social Care AND achieve an SVQ3 in Social Care or other relevant qualification to enable registration with the SSSC within a 3-year period from appointment.

To be appointed to Grade F:

You should hold an SVQ3 in Social Care or other relevant qualification to enable registration with the SSSC as a Practitioner in a Care Home Service for Adults.

You are required to register with the SSSC as a Practitioner in a Housing Support service with Care at Home within 3 months of employment.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

This post is subject to Level 2 Disclosure Check with PVG for working in a regulated role with protected adults.
