Summary

Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Dispensary Manager is responsible for the efficient and compliant running of the dispensary within a community . This includes supervising staff, ensuring accurate and safe dispensing of medications, maintaining stock control, and delivering excellent patient care. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, organizational, and pharmaceutical knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
Dispensary Operations
Oversee daily operations of the dispensary, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.
Ensure accurate dispensing of prescriptions in line with professional and ethical standards.
Maintain confidentiality and patient safety at all times.
Staff Management
Supervise and support pharmacy technicians, dispensers, and counter staff.
Allocate tasks, manage staff schedules, and ensure ongoing training and development.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback.
Customer & Patient Care
Provide expert advice and guidance to patients on the use of prescribed and over-the-counter medications.
Handle queries and resolve customer complaints professionally and empathetically.
Ensure the provision of high-quality customer service throughout the dispensary.
Inventory & Stock Control
Manage stock levels to ensure availability of medications while minimizing waste.
Order pharmaceuticals and liaise with suppliers to maintain stock accuracy.
Monitor expiry dates and ensure proper storage of all medicines.


Compliance & Record-Keeping
Ensure compliance with GPhC standards and relevant legislation (e.g., Medicines Act, Controlled Drugs Regulations).
Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, controlled drugs, and patient interactions where necessary.
Participate in audits, inspections, and continuous improvement processes.
Sales & Business Development
Support achievement of pharmacy sales targets and business objectives.
Promote health services (e.g., flu vaccinations, health checks) where appropriate.
Assist in the implementation of promotional campaigns and customer engagement initiatives.
Qualifications:
6 months-1 years of experience working in a pharmacy dispensary, with supervisory or management experience preferred.
Key Skills:
In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and best practices.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency with pharmacy software and systems.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Fluent in Punjabi, Hindi, and English
Strong communication skills across multilingual environments
Able to translate and interpret between Punjabi, Hindi, and English
Work Conditions:
Full-time permanent role may include weekends and public holidays.
Requires standing for long periods and handling medication.
May involve occasional lifting of stock boxes or pharmacy supplies.
