The Commercial Relationship Management (CRM) Team procures and provides advice on the procurement and contract management of everything purchased by the Department from third parties, including most advisers and technical solutions. It supports all modes of transport (Rail, Maritime, Aviation and Roads) and the corporate functions, including Digital and Technology. The role sits within the Group Commercial Directorate which provides commercial services to the central department and its Agencies and Arms Length Bodies (ALBs), including High Speed 2, Network Rail, National Highways, Maritime and Coastguard and DVLA. The Group Commercial Directorate is part of the Government Commercial Function (GCF - https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/government-commercialfunction/about) and adheres to its standards, policies and procedures.

As a Senior Commercial Relationship Adviser for the DDaT Category team, the primary role is to provide a wide range of customers from across the DfT with commercial advice, support and tools to plan their requirements for digitally enabled services; run competitions and deliver compliant Value for Money solutions to support the taxpayer which in turn deliver on departmental policies.
Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:
Use the DfT’s Jaggaer system, manage procurements within the contractual delegation. Build close and trusted relationships with colleagues across the Department. Produce a clear pipeline across the client group and develop a programme of activities. Develop a programme of activities to ensure that customers’ needs are pro-actively planned and matched with the capability and availability of the market. Monitor spend and performance within the DDaT Category and other associated bodies.
