Summary

As a clinical psychologist the role will assist in the delivery of a service to individuals who have experienced life changing injury or illness. You will be involved in all aspects of the neurorehabilitation and complex trauma programmes as delivered by an extensive, committed, and friendly interdisciplinary team. This will include: Exercising expert clinical judgement based on the highest standards of evidence-based practise you will provide highly-specialist psychological assessment, formulation and intervention while working collaboratively with non-psychologist colleagues and external professionals where appropriate. Using formal testing measures including a range of cognitive assessments to better understand a clients presentation. Supervision of an assistant psychologist. Contributing psychological opinion in a range of different meetings relevant to the client's needs You will also have the opportunity to be involved in shaping the future of the service with client pathway development. You will work autonomously, being professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your clinical work and care, adhering to professional guidelines, the HCPC Code of Conduct and the and STEPS policies and procedures. You will have the opportunity to contribute to developing research capacity and skills within the service To offer consultation, supervision and training when required by other team members involved in the psychological, emotional, and behavioural well-being of clients To continually seek to expand and consolidate clinical skills using training, experience, and supervision. To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation, and treatment plans of clients under your care and to effectively evaluate progress. To receive regular professional supervision from our senior Clinical Psychologists and where appropriate, other senior clinicians. To continue to access continuing professional development opportunities in line with agreed targets and agreed personal development plan. Provide advice and consultation on psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues, and other, non-professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines, and the overall framework of the team and STEPS policies and procedures. You will need to be able to analyse and interpret complex data from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect observation, and semi-structured interviews with clients. To maintain accurate and detailed records of all interventions using the electronic notes system and other specified systems as applicable.
