National and Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (N&S CAMHS) are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled Band 6 Nurses to join the Maudsley Centre for Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders (MCCAED). The post holder will play key roles in an exciting new addition to our service: an integrated eating disorder outreach team.
We are delighted that a significant investment has been made by the South London Partnership (SLP) Provider Collaborative to enhance eating disorder outreach provision across South London. 14.5WTE of new clinical posts will be shared equally between, and embedded within, the two CAMHS community eating disorder services at MCCAED and SWLSTG, to create two ‘halves’ of an integrated outreach team.
The main duties and role of the position is the following, assessment and management of young people with eating disorders, assessment and management of common comorbidities including depression, anxiety, self-harm and OCD.
This will also include; contribution to audit and research, contribution to service development and service management and provision of clinical supervision, consultation and training to other professionals.
About the location:
The Maudsley Centre for Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders (MCCAED) is based at the Michael Rutter Centre for Children and Young People, Maudsley Hospital, which is located at Denmark Hill less than 5 minutes from the train station (zone 2). Our Trust headquarters is also located at Denmark Hill.
We also provide services and operate across other locations, such as London boroughs of Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark; and substance misuse services for residents of Bexley, Lambeth, Greenwich and Wandsworth.

The post-holder will provide clinical services including assessment, treatment, and monitoring of outcomes and the provision of clinical supervision, consultation and training. The post holder will also contribute to service evaluation, research and policy development. There are many opportunities available within the service in relation to continued professional development.
