Summary
Our client, a British gold refiner and bullion merchant, seeks a Sales Assistant/Receptionist to report to the Sales Manager. This role is ideal for candidates looking for a customer-facing position and eager to learn about Bullion Trading.
The Company deals in gold, silver, platinum, palladium, and rhodium bars, as well as numismatic coins, serving private investors, collectors, and institutional clients. You will join a small team at our Showroom/Corporate Head Office, welcoming visitors and assisting retail customers. Opportunities for cross-training in other functions are available to expand your knowledge, and develop an interesting career path.
Main duties and responsibilities
• Greeting visitors, customers, and contacts
• Assisting customers at the counter
• Handling customer enquiries
• Managing incoming and outgoing phone calls
• Helping at occasional events
• Providing holiday cover for colleagues
• Processing bullion transaction paperwork
• Liaising with other departments and security
• Managing stock
**Candidate requirements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Adaptability to different customer types
• Well presented with polite manner
• Strong team player, willing to take on additional duties
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Microsoft 365 proficiency – advantageous
Qualifications
• Minimum A level or equivalent

• At least 1 year in a customer-facing role, ideally in bullion, jewellery, or financial services.
