Experienced Carer Wanted for 24-Hour Support – Complex Needs (Day & Night Shifts) Location: LS23Hours: Full 24-hour period (day and sleeping/waking night)Rate: £15.69 per hour day rate. Sleeping rate for overnight to be confirmed.
We are looking for a dedicated, calm, and compassionate carer to support a bright and engaging young woman with complex medical and communication needs. This is for a 24-hour care period comprising both day and night shifts – potentially more regular work depending on fit and availability.
Ideal applicant will be:
Engaging and enthusiastic, with a warm and confident personality. Up for fund days out, including music events, theme parks, fairs, farm shows. Happy to join in with everyday activities, such as attending social and community groups. Going for walks or outings to the beach, shops, or cafes. Visiting accessible attractions like aquariums, steam train, boat rides. Must be able to be supportive of her independence and choices, whilst understanding when reassurance or calm structure is needed.
She has a number of medical needs, including:
- Dysphagia
- Pain management needs
- Communication support (experience with non-verbal communication preferred)
- Personal care and hygiene
- Administering medication correctly and safely
- Food preparation and safe feeding (strict consistency guidelines)
- Emotional reassurance, clear and respectful communication
You will need to be:
- Patient, proactive, and respectful
- Experienced with high-needs clients and complex medical protocols
- Able to follow detailed care plans
- DBS-checked (or willing to undergo one)
- Ideally first aid trained and comfortable with emergency protocols (training can be arranged)
- Non-smoking household due to health conditions
- Happy around dogs
