Summary

West Monkton Church of England Primary School‌ currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated practitioner to join the team as a Learning Mentor‌. Job overviewThis exciting role will involve working intensively with SEND pupils - including those with neurodiversity. The main responsibilities of the role are:

To support pupils within the school setting and within educational settings within the community.
To provide opportunities for pupils to develop resilience, knowledge and skills that lead to success.
To support pupils to develop confidence and independence. To work with pupils 1:1 and sometimes in small groups.To support pupil’s social, emotional and mental health. To support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of their school life. Job requirements


Experience of supporting children or adults with neurodiversity or complex needs.Good standard of general education to GCSE or equivalent.

Teaching Assistant qualification desirable.

A positive approach and a good sense of humour.

Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in tandem with teaching staff and families.

Ability to be empathetic and resilient .Hours of work: The role will initially be 4 days a week with potential for full time. Term time only. 24.32 hours a weekSalary: Support Staff Pay Grade 15, £13,177.21 p/aClosing Date for applications: 9th July 25Shortlisting: 10th July 25Interviews: TBC
